IPM Attendance Tops 76,000

Huron East | by Peter Jackson

Organizers say they're delighted with the turnout for the rain-shortened event

Even though the event was shortened by one day, the 100th International Plowing Match near Walton last month is being hailed as a resounding success.

IPM Chair Jacquie Bishop says over 76,500 people attended Canada's largest outdoor farm show, which was shortened to four days because of rain and muddy grounds.

Ontario Plowmens' Association Executive director Cathy Lasby adds that exhibitor space in the tented city was sold out, for both outdoor and indoor vendors.

Just over 200 school buses brought students to the IPM, including 54 that had to reschedule around the rainout.
