There is more money to help local parents better connect with their child's education.

The Simcoe County District School Board has been granted more than 75 thousand dollars through the Ministry of Education's Parents Reaching Out Grants for School Councils and Grants For Regional Projects.

Individual school councils apply for PRO grants to support initiatives such as online safety, mental well-being and family math events.

Schools in the public school board are getting 60 thousand dollars for 61 school-based projects this year.

PRO Grants for Regional Projects are available to community groups and non-profit organizations to create more opportunities to work with parents as partners.
