Terriers Fall in Season Opener

Rookie Schryer scored and added an assist in loss to Schomberg.

It was a rough season debut for the Subaru of Orillia Terriers.
They were beaten by the visiting Schomberg Cougars Friday night by a score of 9-4 at Rotary Place.
First period saw the Terriers open up the scoring on a goal by Tyler Thomas for a 1-0 lead.
It was tied at 2-2 in the second period when the Cougars took their first lead of the game as Lucas Brockie scored on a power play goal for a 3-2 Schomberg lead.
Up 6-4, Schomberg blew the game open in the third scoring three times in the period.
Thomas Foulds had 2 goal and an assist for the Cougars (1-1-0).
He along with Spencer Ripley and James Floyd (1 goal, 2 assists) each finished with 3 points while Albert Parente had 20 saves in net.
Ben Schryer and Tyler Rowe each had a goal and an assist for the Terriers (0-1-0).
Morgan Penwell made 31 saves in the loss.
Power plays saw Schomberg go 1-for-2 while Orillia went 0-for 4.
The next game for the Terriers is Saturday night when they host the defending Carruthers Division champions, the Alliston Hornets, for a 7:30 face off at Rotary Place.
