Unifor and Grey Bruce Labour Council raise over $2,500 for local food drive.

The 2017 Labour Day festivities in Port Elgin went off without a hitch.

Not only is it the largest Labour Day Celebrations in the province, organizers say it is one of the most unified in that it really brings the entire community together.

And this year was no different.

The annual Labour Day Food Drive in Port Elgin managed to raise not only four massive boxes of non-perishable food through the efforts of UNIFOR Retirees, but they raised a large amount of cash.

Totals for 2017 came in at $2,531.00, a considerable increase over the $900.00 raised last year (2016).

Many groups took part in this year's Labour Day Festivities with the parade proudly put on by UNIFOR and The Grey Bruce Labour Council.
