You can call it another successful summer tour program for the World's largest Nuclear Power generating station.
Thousands of people jumped aboard a bus this past summer (of 2017) to get up close and personal at Bruce Power.
The popular summer bus tour program was in fact so successful, Bruce Power's Manager of Communications & Media Relations - John Peevers - tells 98 The Beach (Bayshore Broadcasting News) it was actually a record setting year.
"We had over 4,400 people who took advantage of our summer bus tour program which is way up over last year and we had another 720 people who took in the live theatre performance," says Peevers.
The live theatre portion of the tour is something new that Bruce Power added for this year (2017) and it proved to be quite popular.
Peevers says it was another way to entice people in and give them another way to learn about Bruce Power, the nuclear industry in general and what they do.
With the weather throughout the summer a little on the rainy side, Peevers says making the tours available 7 days a week, with two tours a day certainly helped in the increase of visitors to the site.
The Bruce Power Visitor's Centre is now back to normal hours of 9am to 4pm Monday thru Friday.
Peevers says they'll continue to find ways to be innovative ad get as many people as they can through the Bruce Power site so they can really see what the world's largest nuclear power generation facility is all about.
