The province is recognizing leaders in rural Ontario, but they need your help.
Nominations are now open for the Rural Ontario Leaders Awards, which promotes outstanding leadership in the area of rural economic development.
There are five categories for nominations: individuals 24 years of age or younger, over 25, lower tier municipal or Indigenous official, business, and not-for-profit/non-governmental.
Nominees must be Ontario residents, and cannot work for the provincial government.
The recipients of the 2017 awards will be announced at The Rural Ontario Summit in February 2018.
The deadline for nominations is October 11th, and you can find a link to nominate someone from your area here.
