Kincardine's lighthouse is about to be spruced up and it means public access to the facility will be off-limits.
Work is slated to start August 14th and continue through to November.
At the August 2nd meeting, Kincardine councillors approved Phoenix Restoration of Toronto to do the work.
Phoenix was the lowest of four bids at $280,000 that were received however, that price tag does not include any engineering costs.
A third of the cost will be covered under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
According to a report presented by Chief Building Official Michele Barr, "The scope of the work will include repairs and painting of the lighthouse lantern and flat roof and reworking existing vinyl siding and windows."
The lighthouse will be fenced off during repairs.
