Fatal Fall At Eugenia Falls Conservation

An Orillia man has died after losing his footing while hiking in a non-trail area.

A 19-year-old man has died after falling from a cliff at Eugenia Falls Conservation area near Flesherton.
 
At about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 23rd Grey County OPP, together with Grey County EMS, Grey Highlands Fire Department and the Blue Mountains Fire Department, responded to the Conservation Area located off of Grey Road 13 in Grey Highlands.

Police say two men had been hiking in a non-trail area.

One of the men, 19-year-old Tanner Jacobs of Orillia, lost his footing and fell approximately 40 feet from a cliff.

Police say he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by the attending coroner.
