Square Brew Says Local Competition Good For Business

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Square Brew President says competitors like Cowbell bring beer tours to region.

Goderich's new craft brewery has been up and running for over a week, and the president of Square Brew looks forward to the company's first summer season.

Alex Menary tells The Beach News that competition with Cowbell Brewing Company in Blyth will be beneficial for consumers of locally-brewed suds.

Menary says it's always good to have more than one craft brewery in any given area, and that the competitive atmosphere among brewers is more of a friendly rivalry.

He says the development of craft brewing will help bring more tourism to Ontario's West Coast, and that's good for everyone in the industry.

Menary says now that Square Brew is producing beer and lager, the first order of business is to get the Parsons Court brewery's tasting room ready for the tourist season.
