Former Blue Jay at Webers

Severn | by Ken Hashizume

Carlos Delgado was in our area for a Heinz promotion.

People heading to cottage country got to see a Blue Jay -- of the baseball variety.

Former Toronto Blue Jays slugger Carlos Delgado was at Webers restaurant in Severn on Friday to promote Heinz where people can get their face on a bottle of ketchup.

Delgado says they have a booth set up where people can get a photo of themselves and have it put on the front of a bottle of Heinz ketchup.

He says there is also a batting cage set up at the back of the restaurant where visitors can take swings against the pitching machine.

Delgado says he has visited the Muskoka area before while he was playing for the Blue Jays.

He says a friend of his has a cottage on Lake Muskoka but he couldn't go on a weekend because that was when he was playing.

Delgado says the booth will be travelling across Canada so people will be able to have their own customized bottle of ketchup.

He says it will be in Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, as well as Quebec City, Vancouver, and Calgary.
