The local hospital says it has met some important milestones this week in its redevelopment project.

The hospital says, in a news release, that it received the first set of comments back from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care on its Stage 1 A and B, Master Plan which was submitted last September.

Hospital Board Chair Thom Paterson says they now have the opportunity to put the polishing touches on the plan and clarify any additional questions the government has.

The hospital and its planning consultants will meet with the Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network and the Capital Branch of the Ministry in the next few weeks.

The hospital didn't get a planning grant in the 2017 Capital Budget, but it has been assured it is on the Ministry's 'overall list'.

The hospital is also working on planning applications with the town of Collingwood for its preferred site on Poplar Sideroad.
