Port Elgin native at OHL Gold Cup.

Tyler Middleton 1 of 20 referees in Kitchener this week.

Port Elgin native Tyler Middleton, is one of twenty referees selected for the 2017 OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener.  It is on today thru Sunday at the Activa Sportsplex.  

The 22 year old Middleton was a minor hockey official this year, as well as a linesman for the OHA in Junior C arenas around the area, and a linesman for WOAA Senior Mens hockey.  

The OHL Gold Cup includes a development camp for officials.  They experience both on and off ice instruction plus the opportunity to referee and line four of the OHL Gold Cup tournament games.  

The OHL Gold Cup is an annual showcase event featuring the top Under -16 hockey players in the province.
