Flyers Close Out PJHL Season With Awards

Veteran goaltender Nathan Watson is named Most Valuable Player for 2016-17

The Goderich Flyers have recognized their best, as they officially closed out the 2016-17 Provincial Junior Hockey League season.

Among the highlight awards were Most Valuable Player going to goaltender Brad Watson, and Top Scorer Ryan Stulp.

Heart Award – Most Sportsmanlike – #81 Jack Francis
(Forward -- 12G, 11A, 23Pts in 35 Games)

Leadership Award – decided on by the overage players – #10 Riley Conners
(Forward -- 7G, 6A, 13Pts in 31 Games)

Rookie of the Year – #16 Trent Buchanan
(Defenceman -- 4G, 3A, 7Pts in 34 Games)

Top Defenseman Award – #24 Brad Watson
(Defenceman -- 2G, 7A, 9Pts in 31 Games)

Top Forward – #25 Tyler McCracken
(Forward -- 9G, 14A, 23 Pts in 25 Games -- Team Captain)

Top Scorer – #9 Ryan Stulp
(Forward -- 19G, 18A, 37Pts in 32 Games)

MVP – #31 Nate Watson
(Played 1,192 minutes in 23 Games, .856 GAA)

Booster Club Service Award  -- Les Phillips, Trainer

Booster Club Service  Award -- Bob Kuno, Chuck-a-Puck and other promotions
