South Simcoe Police were called around 6:35 Tuesday evening to a home on Morris Road near the Holland Canal.

A resident called told officers he smelled gasoline.

When the man went to investigate he found a motorcycle submerged in the canal.

Officers found the bike with its lights still on, and a wet set of footprints heading south, away from the scene.

Police asked nearby residents for information with one saying they seen a man cutting through her property.

He's described as a white male with short greyish hair in his 60's.

He was last seen wearing a short black jacket with a large red circle emblem on the back and dark grey jogging pants.
