A vague social media post resulted in two schools with similar names being placed in a lock down.

Both St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Tottenham and Brampton were locked down for several hours yesterday (April 20) for a police investigation.

According to the OPP, students found drawings inside a bathroom depicting a stick figure shooting a gun with the date of "April 20th" under it.

Text messages were sent out between students raising concern over the possible threat while only using the acronym STA.

As a precaution, both the Tottenham and Brampton schools were placed in a lock down with the Tottenham school eventually closing for the day and sending students home.

A police investigation later revealed the text messaged originated from the Brampton area.

The Tottenham high school sent a letter home to parents stating all children and staff were safe and that the school would be open as usual today.
