After 38 years, Roth will retire from CAO, Clerk and Economic Development duties, at the end of the year..

A major change is on the way for Brockton.

After 38 years in the municipal sector, CAO Deb Roth has announced her upcoming retirement at the end of the year.

In preparation for this, Brockton has put out an Request For Proposals to hire a recruitment consultant to help find Roth’s replacement.

Mayor David Inglis says finding Roth’s successor is a key priority for the municipality.

He calls Roth a strong leader with a wealth of knowledge and skill.

David says finding her replacement won't be easy, calling Roth a hard act to follow.

Roth not only serves as Brockton’s CAO and Clerk combined, she also shoulders Brockton's economic development responsibilities as well.

Roth says she will do all she can to make the transition for the new CAO as smooth as possible.

This includes working hard to ensure ongoing projects are completed in readiness for her replacement in the new year.

After 38 years of experience and dedication to the municipal governance, Roth says she is looking forward to some down time.

Even so, she admits saying goodbye to her team of dedicated staff won't be easy.

Roth counts herself blessed to have worked with so many wonderful individuals over the years.
