Foster Homes Needed

Grey Bruce | by Kevin Bernard

Three meetings will be held to attract foster families in Grey Bruce

Officials are describing a "critical shortage" of foster homes in the area.

Bruce Grey Child and Family Services will be holding three information meetings to help find 25 new families.

Those sessions are on Monday at 7pm in the Davidson centre in Kincardine, on Thursday at the MacIntyre Building in Dundalk and on April 11th at 7pm in the Civic centre in Hanover.

Foster parents with Bruce Grey Child and Family Services must live in Grey Bruce.

They can be married or single and either have experience with children or an interest in working with them.

Officials say they sometimes struggle to meet the needs of those aged 12 to 18.

There are some 120 foster families in Grey Bruce right now, but not all are active.
