"The opportunity is great," in Saugeen Shores and Bruce County.

So says entrepreneur and motivational speaker Amy MacFarlane, who addressed an audience of about 65 women, attending an event put on by Bruce County.

Called, "Inspiring a Life of Immersion and Leadership," it was billed as an International Women's Day Event, on Thursday, March 9th at the Saugeen Golf Club.

MacFarlane says being from Toronto, she was impressed with the number of resources, mentors and supports for women, men and children in Saugeen Shores.

She says in order to help become a successful entrepreneur, "You have to believe in yourself," and make use of the resources available to you in the community.

MacFarlane said one needs to be true to the cause you believe in and focus on the "Why....why do you do what you do."

MacFarlane is the founder and CEO of Recreational Respite.

The organization is made up of recreational therapists who have degrees in therapeutic recreation.

Their skills are finding ways of engaging someone who, otherwise, can't or doesn't know how to participate in the community.

MacFarlane says they cover all sorts of challenges faced by people of all ages.
