Colts Hang on to Beat Bulldogs

Stefano and Landry each with 3 points for Colts.


What began with a big lead ended in a close finish.
 
The Barrie Colts opened up with a 6-0 first period lead and hung on for a 6-5 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs Thursday night.
 
Jason Wilms and Lucas Chiodo scored 45 seconds apart for a 2-0 Colts lead.
 
Up 3-0, the Colts struck for 3 more goals on a 5-minute power play to go up 6-0.
 
The Bulldogs chipped away at Barrie's lead scoring one before the first period was over.
 
Hamilton would tally 3 in the second period to trail 6-4.
 
Michael Cramarossa closed the gap to within one with his second goal of the game early in the third period.
 
Anthony Stefano, Matt Brassard, Ben Hawerchuk, and Justin Murray also scored for the Colts.
 
Stefano (1 goal, 2 assists) and Kade Landry (3 assists) each finished with 3 points.
 
Trent Fox, Matthew Strome, and Adam Laishram rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
 
David Ovsjannikov made 23 saves in the win while Cole Ceci and Kaden Fulcher combined for 32 in the loss.
 
Barrie finished 3-for-6 on the power play, Hamilton didn't score in their only opportunity with the man advantage.
 
The Colts play the second of three straight games Friday night in London when they take on the Knights.
