Sauble Speedway Ready To Wrap Season

Sauble Beach | by Fred Wallace

Racing at Sauble set for Saturday and Sunday.

The 2016 auto racing season at Sauble Speedway will conclude this weekend.

The final weekend at the track will feature two cards.

The first card goes Saturday night at 7 pm and is highlighted by the Year End Championships in their 5 divisions.

And then Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm, Sauble Speedway will wrap up the race season with a card that features a number of Invitational's plus the Outlaw Midget series.

Track Promoter Jason Thom states the 2016 season has been solid for Sauble Speedway.

Among the alterations for this year was a later start on the calendar, electing to begin their season in mid-June rather than in May.

Thom was gratified by the attendance this season, noting a couple of occasions in which there was a parking overflow that spilled on to County Road 14

Furthermore, Thom was encouraged by the positive response to the APC Series dates and the Open Wheel races at the track.

Among the initiatives that will be dropped for next season is back to back to back racing.

The Speedway offered 3 consecutive cards on the Canada Day Weekend and Thom felt that schedule was too taxing for everyone involved
