Morro Wins Rookie of the Year
The 18-year-old was unanimous choice batting .404, 1 HR, & 15 RBIs in 27 games with Baycats.
Conner Morro is being recognized for a fantastic first year with the Barrie Baycats.
The 18-year-old 2nd baseman was the unanimous choice for the Brian Kerr Memorial Trophy as the Intercounty League's Rookie of the Year.
Morro batted .404 with a home run and 15 R-B-Is in 27 games this season.
He easily beat out Burlington Bandits pitcher Christian Hauck and London Majors outfielder RJ Fuhr.
Morro was also named to the 2nd IBL All-Star team.
He is joined by outfielder Ryan Spataro, 1st baseman Jordan Castaldo, and pitcher Emilis Guerrero.
3rd baseman Kevin Atkinson was named to the 1st All-Star team.
On the field, the Baycats are up 2-0 on the Toronto Maple Leafs in the IBL finals after a 15-12 in Game 2 Wednesday night in Toronto.
Game 3 of the best-of-seven is Saturday night at the Barrie Sports Complex.
