Former Owen Sound Attack forward Andrew Shaw agreed to a six-year contact with the Montreal Canadiens yesterday.
Shaw scored 14 goals last season with the Chicago Blackhawks who dealt the Belleville native to Montreal on Friday.
As is Shaw's tradition, he excelled in the post season for Chicago scoring 4 times in 6 games.
A five-year NHL veteran, Shaw won the Stanley Cup twice in Chicago, hoisting the NHL's championship trophy in 2012-13 and again in 2014-15.
In 2010, Shaw was dealt by the Niagara IceDogs to the Owen Sound Attack and responded with a 22 goal regular season.
Shaw was also a force in the 2011 post season for the Attack as they won the Ontario Hockey League title.
In that playoff run, Shaw picked up 17 points in 20 games for Owen Sound, then led the Memorial Cup in scoring at Mississauga
