Kings Edge Excelsiors

Boyd, Shilling, and Blunt each with 5 points for Orillia.


The Orillia Kings take one more step towards securing a playoff spot.
 
Trent Boyd (4 goals, 1 assist), Cam Shilling (3 goals, 2 assists), and Dallin Blunt (5 assists) each collected 5 points as the Kings edged the Brampton Excelsiors 13-12 in Junior B lacrosse action on Friday.
 
Orillia got off to a good start taking a 5-2 first period lead.
 
But Brampton rallied with 6 goals in the second and grabbed an 8-7 lead after two periods.
 
Owen King scored with 3:58 left in the third period to give the Kings a 13-11 lead and that turned out to be the game winner.
 
David Willkie, Tyler Goodchild, Noah Landriault, Matthew Campbell, and Nevin Kings also scored for the Kings (9-8-1).
 
Sammy Postma had 4 goals and 1 assist while Nick Rybka finished with 2 goals and 5 assists for the Excelsiors (6-10-0).
 
The Kings are back on the floor Saturday night when they host the Mississauga Tomahawks at Rotary Place at 7 PM.
