Mayor Seeks Cancer Treatment
Gord McKay says he has an aggressive form of lymphoma but was detected early.
Midland Mayor Gord McKay will be taking it easy the next few months.
McKay was recently diagnosed what is being described as an aggressive form of lymphoma -- a cancer in the blood.
In an email to staff and Council members, he says he will be undergoing chemotherapy at Sunnybrook Health Sciences in Toronto.
McKay says the cancer was discovered in its early stages and it can be cured.
He expects to be back to full-time duties as Mayor in about four months.
