World Cup Skier Larisa Yurkiw talks about her decision to retire from ski racing.

Owen Sound skier Larisa Yurkiw announced her retirement on Wednesday, citing physical damage to her knees and legs plus the multiple surgical procedures to repair the damage as the primary factors for the decision.

Yurkiw -- who finished third in the World Cup Women's Downhill rankings this season -- has spoken with Bayshore Broadcasting News for more than a decade, dating back beyond her World Cup debut in 2007.
