Three men from Ethiopia and four men from Kenya hold down the top seven spots in the Boston Marathon today.
The fastest man ran the race in 2 hours and 12 minutes.
There were a number of runners from our area taking part.
Josh Cassidy of Burgoyne completed the course in his wheelchair in a time of just under one hour and 37 minutes.
Christian Hambrock of Hanover did the marathon in 2 hours and 52 minutes.
Steve Beasley of Goderich took 2 hours and 57 minutes for the race, while Phillip Dalton of Goderich clocked in at 3 hours 13 minutes.
Chris Vallieres of Port Elgin ran in 3 hours 18 minutes, Christina Norris of Durham took 3 hours and 22 minutes, and David Cook of Ripley ran in 3 hours 24 minutes.
Danica Metcalfe of Hanover took 3 hours and 30 minutes, Curtis Coyne of Meaford was 3 hours and 34 minutes, Rick Haas of Goderich 3 hours 36 minutes, while Don Sorensen of Wasaga Beach ran the race in 3 hours and 37 minutes.
Keith Crittenden of Goderich ran the Boston Marathon in 3 hours 43 minutes, with Gary Fischer of Mildmay doing it in 3 hours 48 minutes.
Also running locally, Ed Reutz of Hanover finished in 3 hours 56 minutes, John Smallwood of Goderich ran it in 3 hours 59 minutes, Colleen Ouwendyk of Shallow Lake took 4 hours and 5 minutes and Jimmy Gray of Meaford ran the marathon in 4 hours and 44 minutes.
