One Dead in Horse-Buggy Crash

Mini-van collides with horse-and-buggy, killing one person and injuring others.

Provincial police in Grey County say one person is dead after a mini-van collided with a horse-drawn carriage on Highway 10 between Flesherton and Dundalk at about 9:30 AM on Sunday.

Officers say the carriage was carrying nine people, one of whom has died.
   
Police and paramedics have not released any information about the victim.
   
Another person in the carriage was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Air Ornge tells Bayshore Broadcasting News there were six patients who needed medical help, including a young child.

The air ambulance service also says the two people in the mini-van were hurt, but their injuries aren't considered serious.

It's unknown when Highway 10 between Roads 170 and 190 will reopen.
