(Goderich) -

Registration is now open for the 2016 Run Around The Square in Goderich, in support of the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund.

Run Director Jason Moon says five and ten kilometre runs will once again be available, but organizers are also offering a new team option.

Moon tells us there will be men's, women's, and co-ed teams, and the latter must have an equal number of both sexes.

Also new to this year's run is the involvement of the YMCA's Healthy Kids Campaign.

The "Y" will be coordinating the kid's race around the square, with heart-healthy activities to do while the adults run their longer races.

So far, the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund has raised money for more than 50 defibrillators, all in the name of fallen first responders and members of the military.

Moon says this year's defibrillator donation will be going to the Goderich Tourism office, for use at the office and the town's organized functions.

The run is scheduled for Sunday, May 15th, and early bird registration ends March 31st.

All registrations close April 30th.
