Search Intensifies for Jim Armstrong

Saugeen Shores | by Matt Villeneuve

OPP get involved, Police want to speak to bus riders to help find 53 year old man.

The search for a missing person continues in Saugeen Shores, and the OPP's Emergency Response Team (ERT) will be helping from the ground and the air.

As you may know, Peter James Armstrong of Southampton was reported missing on Thursday (Mar.10th) -- and officers say he may have purchased a CAN-AR bus ticket to Walkerton at Ralph's Hi-way Shoppette in Port Elgin.

Two other people were aboard the bus when it departed at 7 AM on Thursday -- and it arrived at its destination at 8:10 AM -- and police are eager to speak with those individuals.

Investigators are trying to confirm that Armstrong was on board that CAN-AR bus.

Police in Saugeen Shores will be conducting ground searches for Armstrong in Southampton, including in the backyards and vacant or seasonal properties.

The OPP's ERT officers will search the Lake Huron shoreline via helicopter.

Armstrong is described as 5-foot-9, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with grey and red curly hair and blue eyes.

The 53-year old was last seen on March 9th at 9 PM wearing green/multi-coloured PJ pants -- but police say he may have changed clothing.

He suffers from a mental health disorder and epilepsy.

Armstrong arrived in Southampton from Toronto on March 5th to visit a relative.
