(Goderich) -

When you pick up your weekly groceries, you are being asked to keep the local food bank in mind.

The Salvation Army will be outside of the Goderich Food Basics this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday collecting donations for their two regional food banks.

Sally Ann Lieutenant David Hickman says food supplies at their Goderich and Clinton locations are becoming scarce.

Hickman tells us the food bank is in need of canned fruits and vegetables, canned soups and canned meat, like fish and chicken.

With students on March Break, Hickman says kids snacks are more quickly consumed at home, and there is a strong need for children's snack items.

He asks everyone to chip in one item during their weekly grocery shopping.
