(Goderich) -

An international businessman with ties to Huron County will be making a presentation in Canada's Prettiest Town.

John Baker is the Founder and CEO of D2L (Desire 2 Learn), an online teaching platform used by elementary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions on five continents.

Baker will be at Goderich's Livery Theatre next week, discussing the importance of entrepreneurship, and having a branch of Fanshawe College opening in the town.

Fanshawe's Regional Advancement Coordinator Andrew Gunn says the discussion highlights the Entrepreneurship and Management program to be taught at the Goderich Fanshawe location.

Establishing a campus in Goderich was underway before the 2014 election, when Former Deputy Mayor John Grace was still involved in municipal politics.

Grace helped to facilitate the development of the site, and continues to volunteer as a citizen to ensure the upcoming program runs smoothly.

Gunn says Baker will be speaking Tuesday, March 22nd, with the Fanshawe campus opening Wednesday, March 30th.
