The Grey-Bruce community is again rallying after a devastating fire at a home in the 1400 block of Concession 12 in the former Bruce Township.

So far, More than $7,200 has been raised via a campaign for Andy and Sharon Stewart, who lost their home in a fire on Saturday.

Provincial police aren't releasing much information, but the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit, the Forensic Identification Unit and the Fire Marshall's Office are investigating.

Officers, alongside Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services, responded to the scene at 6:15 AM on Saturday March12th to find the structure fully engulfed in the flames.

It's an unusual situation.

Cathy Stewart, a relative of the homeowners, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News firefighters had also been called to extinguish a fire at the home on Friday at 3 AM.

She says the family lost three dogs and a cat in the blaze.

The OPP haven't said if the incident is suspicious, and calls to the South Bruce detachment on Sunday were not immediately returned.

Andy Stewart is an officer with the Saugeen Shores Police Service, and the agency is accepting donations at its headquarters along Tomlinson Drive in Port Elgin.

Emergency personnel haven't issued a damage estimate for the home, but the family estimates it to be upwards of $400,000.
