Money for New Playground

Flesherton | by Matt Villeneuve

Trillium Grant of $19,000 will pay for new playground at Memorial Park.

Memorial Park in Flesherton will get a new playground, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation is offering the project a $19,000 grant.

The volunteer-lead Flesherton Beautification and Improvement Committee (FBIC) says the "fun zone for local families" will be completed by October.

Mayor of Grey Highlands, Paul McQueen, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the grant allows Council to continue to invest and support the FBIC's initiatives.

According to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the project meets its priorities by fostering active lifestyles in the community, while improving infrastructure.

The FBIC is seeking additional sponsors to support the Memorial Park playground project, which is scheduled to begin in May.
