Home sales got off to a solid start in January in Grey Bruce.
Figures from the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound show 120 homes were sold last month, up 41 per cent from the same month a year ago.
The average price for homes sold in January was just under $237,000 -- which is down 3.5 per cent from a year ago.
Officials with the Realtors Association say the decline likely just reflects the volatility that goes with the slower winter months.
The average price of homes sold in all of 2015 was up eight percent from 2014 levels.
The dollar value of all homes sold in January was $28.4 million -- up 36 per cent in a year over year comparison.
It was a record for the month and marked the first time the January sales volume surpassed $25-million.
Meanwhile, the selection of homes is down from last year.
There are 1,023 homes listed on the MLS system in Grey Bruce now, down 34 percent from January of 2015.
