Terrorism is a global concern, and its now on the Bluewater School Board's radar.
Trustees on Tuesday accepted a report to alter the itinerary of an upcoming art history trip for students at Kincardine District Secondary School.
Lori Wilder is the Superintendent of Education -- and she says safety "is of the utmost importance," so the Board and KDSS decided against travelling to Paris, a City still reeling from the November 13th terrorist attack that left 130 people dead.
The Canadian government has also issued a travel advisory for the City of Light, suggesting globetrotters "exercise a high degree of caution due to the current elevated threat of terrorism" in France.
Instead, Wilder says the students will visit the City of Bruges in Belgium, the Netherlands' capital of Amsterdam and the the Italian City's of Rome and Florence.
She says everyone is still excited about the trip.
