Rookies Lift Colts to Win Over Wolves
Brown and Finoro each score their 1st OHL goal.
The Barrie Colts end 2015 with a bang.
Aidan Brown and Giordano Finoro each collected their first career OHL goals as the Colts doubled up the Sudbury Wolves by a score of 6-3 on Thursday.
The Wolves took an early 1-0 lead before Roy Radke and Kevin Labanc scored 2:46 apart to give the Colts the lead.
That was followed by Brown's goal at the 14:30 mark to put the Colts up 3-1 after the first period.
With the Colts up 4-2, Finoro scored 8:54 into the third period for a 5-2 lead.
Anthony Stefano and Andrew Mangiapane also scored while another rookie -- Lucas Chiodo -- had 3 assists for the Colts (21-12-0-1).
Dmitry Sokolov, Danny Desrochers, and Alan Lyszczarczyk replied for the Wolves (8-26-3-0)
David Ovsjannikov had a 43-save performance for the Colts while Zack Bowman made 39 saves for the Wolves.
Sudbury went 3-for-6 on the power play, Barrie finished 1-for-3.
The next game for the Colts is Saturday night when they host the North Bay Battalion in the first game of a home-and-home set.
