Terriers Chew Shamrocks

Barroso gets game-winner as Orillia moves to within five points of 8th place Erin.

The Jim Wilson Orillia Terriers are inching closer to a playoff spot.

 The Terriers picked up a 5-3 victory Saturday night over the Erin Shamrocks.
Kyle Fischer and Trenton Micks gave Orillia a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Erin stormed back with 2 of their own from William Patry and Mike Nicolucci to tie the game up at 2-2.
Then Brady Hubbard's goal got the lead back for the Terriers and it was 3-2 after two periods.
In the third period, Alec Littlejohn tied it up for the Shamrocks at 3-3 before Mike Barroso put the Terriers ahead for good with his goal to make it 4-3.
Taylor Fischer would add a late goal to seal the win.
Gordie Weiss had 27 saves in net for the Terriers while Tom Denstedt had 38 for the Shamrocks.
Erin had the only power play goal on 4 chances, Orillia went 0-for-4.
The Terriers (7-22-1) have won 4 of their last 6 and are 5 points back of the Shamrocks (9-18-2) for 8th place in the Georgian Mid-Ontario standings.
