Chippewa Golf Sold

Southampton | by Fred Wallace

Chippewa Golf in Southampton sold to Kevin O'Brien of Flesherton.

Another golf course in our region has been sold.

Geza Kocsis confirms that he has sold Chippewa Golf in Southampton to Kevin O'Brien of Flesherton.

Kocsis has operated Chippewa for the last decade and admits he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the club.

He says the combination of the community, the setting of the course and the ability to positively impact the local economy and local fundraisers were elements that made Chippewa so rewarding.

Kocsis cites the annual success of the Crimestoppers Tournament and the Rotary Club Tournament as just two examples of successful golf and community events through the years.

Although he's sold the course to Kevin O'Brien, Kocsis relates he and key management will remain in place for 2016 to assist in the transition.

It's also believed that Chippewa's Head Pro, John Schmidt has also been offered a contract to remain in his position for the next two years.
