Shield Slay Titans
Lyden with goal and 2 assists for South Muskoka in battle of 2 top teams in division.
A clash of the titans so to speak in Gravenhurst.
The South Muskoka Shield battled to a 3-2 victory over the Temiskaming Titans on Friday in a match up between the top two teams in the GMHL's North Division.
After a scoreless 1st period, the Titans got on the board with a power play goal by Dayton Murray for a 1-0 lead.
Then the Shield replied with 3 straight from Juray Kamenicky, Ladislav Garey, and Carl Lyden to go up 3-1 after two periods.
Scott Marshall would get Temiskaming to within one with his goal in the 3rd period.
Lyden finished with 3 points while Alfred Panelin-Borg collected 2 assists for South Muskoka.
Gravenhurst native Nathan Delarosbil played in his first game for the Shield and got an assist on Garey's goal.
The next game for the Shield is Sunday night in Bobcaygeon.
