Knights Rule GBSSA Football

Powell with 3 TDs for JOA in final; Hache had 2 TDs for OSS.

The St. Joan of Arc Knights hold senior high school football bragging rights in Simcoe County.
Keysean Powell had 3 touchdowns as the Knights downed the Orillia Nighthawks 43-13 in Saturday's Georgian Bay (GBSSA) final at the West Orillia Sports Complex.
The first touchdown was a 63-yard pass and run by Powell from Braydon Longstreet on the Knights' first posession.
The second came on their next possession and Powell went 45 yards to give the Knights a 14-0 lead after one quarter.
The Nighthawks would respond in the 2nd quarter as Jack Hache would go 15 yards to the end zone but the convert was blocked and Orillia trailed 14-6.
With the Knights up 21-6, they pulled away in the 3rd quarter racking up 16 points including a 7-yard touchdown run by Devin McGurik in the first possession of the second half.
McGurik finished with 2 touchdowns on the day as did Hache for the Nighthawks.
Powell and Hache were named players of the game for their respective teams.
The Knights will go on to play the Paul Dwyer Saints from Oshawa in the OFSSA Eastern Bowl Championship next Monday November 30th in Hamilton.
