Snoek Snipes Winner

Alliston loses 2-1 to the Port Hope Panthers who now lead Junior C series 3-0

The Alliston Hornets find themselves in a familiar spot.

The Hornets, once again, are on the brink of elimination after losing to Port Hope in Game 3 of the Ontario Junior C Semifinals.

Nathan Snoek's goal with 2:35 left in the third period was the difference as the Panthers edged the Hornets 2-1.

Alliston opened up a 1-0 first period lead on a goal by Connor Annett.

Port Hope replied in the second when Rory Milne came out of the penalty box and joined Dalton Lawrence on a 2-on-0 and scored short-handed to tie the game at 1-1.

Devan Trembley finished with 20 saves for the Panthers.

Tyler Brindle stopped 22 shots for the Hornets.

Both teams could not capitalize with the man advantage.

Port Hope went 0-for-8, Alliston finished 0-for-6.

The Panthers take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Schmalz Cup Junior C semi finals.

They can sweep the series with a win in Game 4 Tuesday night in Port Hope.
