Knights, IceDogs Move On

London and Niagara win first round series, Ontario Hockey League Playoff Recap

The London Knights and Niagara Ice Dogs have advanced to the second round of the OHL playoffs.

Here is a recap of the action. 

Western Conference Quarterfinal

London Knights 5 Kitchener Rangers 0
( London wins the best of 7; 4-2 )

Eastern Conference Quarterfinal

Niagara IceDogs 4 Ottawa 67's 3
( Niagara wins the best of 7; 4-2 )

Knights 5 Rangers 0

Tyler Parsons posted the shutout for the Knights who won the series 4 games to 2 & now advance to face Erie in the Western Conference semifinal.

The game was scoreless for 30 minutes before Victor Mete, the first round selection of the Owen Sound Attack in 2014, opened the scoring which touched off a 4 goal explosion by the Knights in 8 minutes.

Christian Dvorak, Tait Seguin, Matt Rupert & Aiden Jamieson also scored for the Knights.

IceDogs 4 67's 3

Brendan Perlini scored what stood as the game winner as the IceDogs eliminated Ottawa, winning the best of 7; 4-2

Vince Dunn, Cody Payne & Jordan Maletta also scored for Niagara who will face the Oshawa Generals in the next round.

Brandon Hope posted the win in goal, making 28 saves.

Nevin Gay, Taylor Davis and Dante Salituro scored for Ottawa who won the first 2 games of the series before dropping 4 straight.
