Hornets Avoid the Sweep

A huge save near the end of the game may have saved the season for the Alliston Hornets.

The Hornets opened up a 2-0 first period lead and held on to beat the Walkerton Hawks 3-2 on Tuesday to avoid the sweep.
Tyler Brindle made 24 saves in net for the Hornets but none was bigger than the final one
Brett Coulson was alone in front of the net with 2.5 seconds left in the third period but could not get the tying goal past the Hornets' netminder.
Joe Cochrane, Jacob Tuck, and Nic Archibald got the goals for Alliston.
Not only did the Hornets not trail in the game, they also took the lead for the first time in this series.
Calvin Penney and Jay Thomson replied for Walkerton while Erik Angeli stopped 26 shots.
The Hawks still lead the Schmalz Cup Junior C quarterfinal series 3-1.
Game 5 of the best-of-seven goes this Friday night in Walkerton.
