Colts Sweep Pre-Season Series

Barrie | by Ken Hashizume

Radke scores winner for Barrie; Schemitsch with goal and 2 assists for Owen Sound.

It was a good Labour Day weekend for the Barrie Colts.

Rookie Roy Radke scored the winner with 6:09 left the third period to give the Colts a 4-3 over the Owen Sound Attack on Monday night at the Barrie Molson Centre.

The Attack opened up a 2-0 lead on power play goals by Ethan Szypula.

Down 2-1, the Colts would take a 3-2 lead in the 3rd on goals by Matthew Kreis and Andrew Mangiapane.

But just seconds after Mangiapane put the Colts ahead, Thomas Schemitsch quickly answered for the Attack to tie it up at 3-3.

Schemitsch would finish the game with a goal and 2 assists.

Garrett Hooey had the other goal for the Colts.

The win gives the Colts a sweep of their home-and-home pre-season series after beating the Attack 5-2 on Sunday in Owen Sound.

The next exhibition game for the Colts is this Thursday against the Erie Otters.

The next game for the Attack is this Saturday at home versus the North Bay Battalion.
