Minor Hockey Results

Midget, Novice and Tyle Scores from Minor Hockey action.

Plenty of minor hockey action for Grey Bruce teams over the last few days.

Here is a recap of the action.

The scores and stories are posted as received.


The Owen Sound Boot & Blade Midget AE team beat Essa 5-2 in Angus in Georgian Bay Minor Hockey Playoffs last night.  Matt Ward scored twice, Ryan Winters, Geordie Stephens and Matt Thompson all added one.  

They will be hosting Amherstburg this weekend for the beginning of a semi-final series in the OMHA playdowns.




The Owen Sound Bantam Select team went 1-2-0 this weekend when they attended the Stoney Creek Winterfest tournament in Stoney Creek.

On Friday, Feb. 21 they faced Amherstberg in their first game of the tournament defeating their opponent 3-1. Goal scorers were Matthew Bumstead, Nicholas Rudolph and Jacob Bartley.

Their second game on Friday was a hard fought battle against the Jordan Lions however the Select team was defeated 13-1 with Brandon Cooper scoring the lone goal.

On Saturday, Feb. 22 Owen Sound faced Niagara and battled hard however the opposition’s defence was just too tight and proved to be unbreakable in a 4-0 loss for Owen Sound.

Netminders Auden Courtney and Rhett Sonnenburg put on a fantastic show stopping a flurry of shots from the opposition.



The Horton Concrete Finishing Novice Rep team beat the Walkerton Capitals 4-0 to move on to the next round of play-offs.

Scoring for the Rebels were Nathan Garrett (x2) and Wyatt Cayley (x2). Assists by Alex Baker and Maverick Lacey.  


The Owen Sound Canadian Tire Jr. Attack Tykes remained undefeated in dramatic fashion in their Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League playoffs Sunday with a 4-4 tie in Coldwater.  

?Maddox Burgess scored his second goal of the game with 41 seconds remaining to tie the game. Hunter Stewart and Cohen Taylor also scored for Canadian Tire. Owen Sound now has a record of 2 wins and one tie in the round robin playoff format.

The Jr. Attack pay a visit to Shelburne on Saturday and host Grand Valley Sunday at 4 PM at the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre.
