The Rama Aces getting a big effort from their smaller players.
Mark Spong got a goal and two assists for the Aces in a 5-3 victory over the Halton Ravens on Friday night at the MASK.
Cory Naughton also chipped in with a goal and an assist -- his third period marker was the eventual game-winner.
After a scoreless first period, Halton took a 1-0 lead in the second before Rama scored three times that period -- all on the power play -- for a 3-1 lead.
Both Spong and Naughton each stand at 5-foot-9, one of 6 players on the roster at that height or smaller.
The big guys for Rama also chipped in as 6-foot-4 Ryan Brain and 6-foot-1 Joey Molfetta each collected a goal and an assist while 6-foot-1 Ryan Pypher had the other goal for the Aces.
Dennis Fontyn, Nick Scamurra, and Chris Micallef replied for the Ravens.
Shots on goal were even at 29 a piece.
The Aces head to the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto Saturday afternoon for a game against the Predators -- the second of three straight this weekend.
