(Conn) -

A Meaford woman who died in a crash in Wellington County was a long time employee of the Bluewater public school board.

Police say 61 year old Virginia Wiley was killed when the SUV she was in collided head-on with another car on County Road 14 south of Conn just before 10 AM on Tuesday.

Wiley had worked for the Bluewater Board for nearly 30 years -- most recently as a Student Support Liaison.

Police say the drivers of both vehicles remain in hospital with serious injuries.

There was also a German Shepard mix breed dog in one of the vehicles that is now missing -- the dog answers to Sidney.

There was dense fog in the area at the time of the crash -- and also 30 minutes earlier for another fatal crash near Rothsay.

That is when a tractor trailer and a tanker truck collided.

24 year old Marshall McCartney of Wiarton was killed in that crash.

The investigation continues into both crashes.
