Springwater township is the latest municipality in our area to bring in electronic voting for the next election.
Voters in Springwater will be able to vote either in person, by telephone or on the Internet in the vote in October of 2014.
The company that will administer the election is called Everyone Counts and promises multiple layers of military-grade encryption to be sure the votes are counted fairly and accurately.
In Springwater, voters will not only be able to cast their ballot in person or on the phone, but also through a tablet or smartphones and even gaming devices, such as Xbox and Wii.
Wasaga Beach announced it would make the move to allow e-voting earlier this year.
