Some disappointing news for area anglers.

(Craigleith) -

Some disappointing news for area anglers.

A beach just east of Craigleith Provincial Park, popular for fishing, will be closed sometime in the next couple of weeks and it could stay that way for the summer.

The closure of the shale beach known as Fish Barrel Beach is so the Ministry of Transportation can conduct what it calls the rehabilitation of Highway 26 between Collingwood and Thornbury.

As part of the design and environmental assessment, the MTO will be looking at options for access and controlled parking for this beach.
