McDavid Leads Canada

Erie Otters star scores a hat trick as Canada advances to the semifinals.

Canada has advanced to the semifinals of the World Under 18 Hockey Championship.

The Canadians beat the Czech Republic 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters scored a hat trick and Philippe Desrosiers posted the shutout

McDavid leads the tournament with 8 goals and 6 assists in five games.

Sam Reinhart, Nick Baptiste of the Sudbury Wolves and Laurent Dauphin also scored for the Canadians, who will play Finland this morning at 8 am in the semifinals. The United States will face host Russia in the other semifinal at noon.

Chris Bigras and Zach Nastasiuk of the Owen Sound Attack are members of the Canadian entry
